GPNA 2025 Strategic Plan

The GPNA Board of Directors took advantage of the down time during 2020 to gather input from neighbors, review feedback from key stakeholders and envision the future of our Garfield Park community. Below are the 7 Iniatives that will guide GPNA over the next 5 years. You can view the full GPNA 2025 Strategic Plan here.

A huge thank you to everyone who provided feedback, completed surveys and shared hopes for our neighborhood.

Governance

  • GPNA will hold itself accountable to add value to partnerships, work to ensure viability of partners and strength of our end of the partnership

  • Elevate the position of a GPNA board members and dues-paying members to drive initiatives and GPNA participation

  • Define Governance process and roles for governance of this strategic plan

Community Engagement

  • Increase general feeling of neighborhood & GPNA engagement among neighbors by fostering opportunities for connection and neighbors getting to know neighbors

Communication & Brand

  • Define communication strategy for how GPNA will best leverage each communication medium and ensure relevancy ongoing

  • Clearly define Communication-related Committees to align all forms of communications and opportunities for brand recognition

  • Define brand strategy to unify all GPNA communications

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

  • Promote monthly events and activities throughout the city that work toward equity and inclusion

  • Establish a new sustainable partnership each calendar year

  • Identify and address one key gap in equity and inclusion each calendar year

Economic Development

  • Engage current businesses

  • Encourage equitable transit-oriented development, affordable housing development, and neighborhood opportunities aligned with the GPNA mission and neighbor wants and needs

Public Health and Safety

  • Create a sense of safety and security by increasing opportunities for neighbors to engage with one another

  • Increase presence of partnerships and intuitive access to resources

  • Promote local educational opportunities and continue to advocate for high-quality education

Walkability & Beautification

  • Support the heritage of Garfield Park

  • Continue to beautify and provide greenery to the Garfield Park neighborhood

  • Continue to increase walkability in the Garfield Park neighborhood

  • Further the reputation of Garfield Park as a hub for art
