Garfield Park Neighbors Association has many ways for neighbors, businesses, and community partners to. engage and gather.
Our committees continue to evolve to meet the needs and goals of our community. Each committee works on strategies to improve our neighborhood and create a sense of belonging for all neighbors and visitors.

Community Engagement

This committee serves our community by working together to create opportunities to gather and connect with one another.

Block Ambassadors
Purpose:
This committee works to create a welcoming and safe environment for all residents through an organized system of communication, neighborhood observation, and block-by-block engagement with neighbors.
Ways to get involved:
Become a GPNA Block Ambassador for your block
If you have security cameras at your home, you can contact the committee chair or your block’s ambassador to be added to our neighborhood security camera database

Economic Development Committee
Purpose:
This committee serves as the primary contact for merchants and businesses in the Garfield Park neighborhood. They also work with key stakeholders and partners to Encourage equitable transit-oriented development, affordable housing development, and neighborhood opportunities aligned with the GPNA mission and neighbor wants and needs.

Communication
PURPOSE:
This committee serves our community by supporting and organization all formal communications to our neighbors. This includes but is not limited to social media, our website, Urban Times, emails, as well as collateral pieces
and neighborhood swag
Ways to get involved:
Connect with our neighbors through social media
Get creative - help with design, writing, merch and/or graphics
Suggest local activities/events to promote
Suggest local activities/events to report on / submit photos afterward
Assist with writing articles for the Urban Times or submit article ideas
Help with website design & maintenance

Walkability and Beautification Committee
Purpose:
This committee works to sustain the historic charm of our neighborhood and leads the efforts to maintain safe and beautiful walkways through and around our community.
Ways to get involved:
Sign up to help with median maintenance
Help with maintaining neighborhood trees and flowers
Participate in Keep Indianapolis Beautiful’s adopt-a-block program

SoIndy Quality of Life Plan
Garfield Park is an invested and committed neighborhood In the So Indy Quality of Life Plan. Through the Quality of Life Plan, there are many ways to be a part of improving the quality of life for your neighbors.
